How it started
Gruntwork originally started out as two traditional DevOps consulting companies by Jim Brikman and Josh Padnick.
When Jim and Josh met in 2015, they realized that they kept re-implementing the same solution with every client, and decided to create a better way to establish
best-practices infrastructure.
In 2016, after working with a number of clients and building up a library of reusable code, templates, and best practices, they merged the two companies together into Gruntwork.

How it's going
Today, Gruntwork is bootstrapped, profitable, and run by a distributed team that deeply cares about its craft.
Their mission is to make world-class AWS DevOps practices accessible to those who want to accelerate their cloud deployments and avoid reinventing the wheel.
Gruntwork is the open-source maintainer for Terragrunt, the default choice for engineers who want to skip the boilerplate, and the Go library Terratest, the de facto way to write integration tests for infrastructure code.
